- 1 pint Gallivant Madagascar Vanilla Ice cream
- 1 pound fresh strawberries – washed, stemmed, and halved
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- Sliced almonds, for topping
Directions
- In a small saucepan, combine the strawberries, sugar, and salt. Slowly heat the mixture over medium heat while crushing the strawberries with a mash.
- Cover the saucepan and lower the heat to a gentle simmer. Cook for about 20 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat, stir in lemon zest and juice. Set aside and let cool.
- Serve this delectable strawberry sauce over a scoop of Gallivant Madagascar Vanilla Mawa Ice Cream.
